There are only a few things for which I take my sneakers off, haha! One of these moments is when I watch series. I barely watch TV but I do binge watch series. To me one of my go to ways to relax and clear the mind.
So I thought why not share some of my favorite series with you. Maybe you already know them, but if you haven’t seen them yet; I’m so jealous. Because I’ve seen them all and I wish I had some episodes left!
- The Get Down | This brand new Netflix originals series just launched last week. Saw the trailer a couple of weeks ago and already got super excited about this! And I’ve been watching it non stop ever since it came out. – Before Hip-Hop became what we know today, rap (electro), break dancing & street art/graffiti were all linked & The Get Down tells the story of their creation/evolution in a mix of storytelling, music & aesthetic. This series shows the life of a group of teenagers in NYC in the 70’s and it’s so so dope; Love the outfits and the overall vibe!
- Mr. Robot | Something different! This series is about Elliot, who is a young programmer who works as a cyber-security engineer by day and a hacker by night. He’s also dealing with some personal issues and somehow this series completely pulls you into his life while everything that’s happening makes you just as confused as he is. The second season is halfway through now and I have seriously no I idea where this is going. Which is awesome!
- Queen of The South | Some serious Girl Power in this series about female drugs boss lady Teresa who flees Mexico after her drug-runner boyfriend is murdered. She looks to become the country’s reigning drug smuggler and to avenge her lover’s murder. It’s super badass!
- Orphan Black | I’m not going to tell too much about this story because you simply have to see for yourself. 1 actress playing at least 10 different characters in this series. So sick! And if you haven’t seen this yet you’re in luck because theres 4 seasons and the 5th is coming next year! And a little bonus; theres a goodlocking dutch actor in this series as well!
- Luther | I swear this one isn’t on the list because of the main character.. ok maybe it is! I have a BIGTIME crush on Idris Elba who plays detective Luther. It’s british, grimy and definitely not your average police drama! I find it quite scary from time to time but then again I’m a major pussy when it comes to that. Did I already mention Idris Elba (LOVE)? One question though; can anyone tell me why they started season 4 in December last year but didn’t go further than episode 2?
