Sneakerness returns to Amsterdam
After four successful Dutch editions the main sneaker event in Europe returns to Amsterdam on the 23rd and 24th of May. This time Sneakerness takes place in the Lasloods at the NDSM wharf. During this weekend, vendors come to Amsterdam Noord to showcase a wide selection of new and vintage sneakers.
Nowadays everybody seems to have at least one pair of sneakers in their closet. But sneakers are more than just footwear – for an ever growing number of people, sneakers are a way of life, and Sneakerness is a large sneaker event that resides in cities like Paris, Zurich, Cologne, Warsaw and Amsterdam. At Sneakerness, all enthusiasts and collectors are served! During the convention there is the possibility to buy not only the latest releases, but also vintage sneakers, even rare samples and collector’s items can be found at this event. Sellers this year include Deaup from the Netherlands, Sneaker Vintage from France and Sole Hunters from Germany. Among the side attractions there is a sneaker customizing workshop, as well as a footwear cleaning station.
After Sneakerness editions in the western and eastern part of the city of Amsterdam, for this fifth event it’s time to head up north: The rugged Lasloods is larger than the previous locations and offers more space for entertainment, activities and to socialize. Next to loads and loads of sneakers there will be art, street art, graffiti and plenty of room to eat, drink and hang out with your friends. Throughout the event there is music from DJ Turne. This year they also thought of the young sneaker freak; Sellers will bring sneakers in the smallest sizes and there will be activities for the youngsters in the Lasloods. To end the event with a big bang, there will be a Sneakerness after party on Sunday, which will be held in the vicinity of the location. More about that later!
