Highlights of 2014:

  • Launching my new website in September is def one of the ultimate highlights for me. Starting ‘Girl on kicks’ just about 1,5 years ago with the intention of triggering my creativity. I would’ve never thought this blog would grow this big! And I’m beyond thankful for that!
  • With that website launch comes the Launchparty! I never ever in my life did something like this, but I felt like giving this site a good kickstart and wanted to host a party to celebrate this new chapter of  ‘Girl on Kicks’. Organizing a party from scratch was one hell of a job. And of course, the stress; what if no one is coming?! But it turned out to be one big blockparty; the weather was good, the vibe was epic, the music was awesome and the drinks and the food were so tasty! This is something I would’ve never thought I would be able to do. And I got so many people (friends/family) around me who support me and help me out wherever they can. Without them this party would never have been this successful! I’m really proud that I pulled this off.
  • Sneakerness Paris. When I got the email from team Sneakerness asking me if I would like to come visit to the first Paris edition of Sneakerness I immediately said YES! Paris is one of my favorite cities in Europe and I set up a little collaboration with Lomography and shot some awesome analogue pictures. I had so much fun and met a lot of cool people!
  • My internship & the new job. My internship at Back to Back PR was where this year started with. Working 6 days a week(2 jobs) and running the blog was a real struggle sometimes. But I was finally doing something I really liked! Started my new job at No Boys Allowed (female sneaker store) in June. Working 4 days a week so that I could spent a little more time on ‘Girl on Kicks’ and some side projects was the best idea ever! And I’m so happy that the hard work is slowly starting to pay off!
  • All the people I worked with in 2014. I feel so blessed having to meet all these creatives. Shared ideas and created some pretty cool stuff! To name some: Mandy, Jacky, Raphael, Resuk, Danicha, Jordy, Chris, Debbie, Merel, Sekan, Romarique and many more! And I can’t wait to work with these and other creatives even more in 2015! Good vibes!
  • And last but not least: YOU! for visiting my website on a daily/weekly/monthly base! That makes me so happy. And your positive feedback and likes and all: That shit keeps me going! Thanks for that!

All together: 2014 was awesome and I’m planning on making 2015 even better! How about you?

Now let’s POP CHAMPAGNE and celebrate! Wishing you all the best for the new year; keep exploring and doing what you love!
