Every year I’m asking myself this question again; Why are you doing this to yourself?
Seriously; choosing my top 5 favorite sneakers of the year out of the hundreds of pairs in my closet. But this is still something I want to do and in the end it’s always pretty clear if I just think about what I’ve been wearing most and which shoes excite me most. those of you who looked closely would’ve noticed that it’s actually 6 pairs instead of 5.. but it’s 2 pairs of primeknit NMD’s so I counted these as one.
My year in shoes:
adidas NMD OG & City Sock OG:
This year was def the year of the boost. That being the adidas Ultra Boost and the adidas NMD’s (and ofcourse the yeezy boosts). These are two of my most worn pairs. The OG primeknit NMD’s were my first NMD love but the City Socks are the love of my life. I’ve been wearing them non stop. Love the shape, the lines, the fit and the overall look of them. It one of the few pairs on my closet that I’ve doubled up on. (see most popular post of this year here)
NikeLab air force 1 mid ‘Vachetta Tan’
I’m a big fan of nice materials, interesting textures and good quality shoes. These ‘Vachetta Tan’ air force 1’s have different meanings to me. First of all; it’s obviously one of my favorite shoes (wearing them as we speak) but also; I bought them when I was in Paris with my girl Morgan. We decided to do a last minute trip to Paris to shoot a editorial for the blog. Which was so much fun.. so good memories! (little side note; love these so much that I doubled up as well when I got the chance to)
Rihanna for PUMA Creeper
I think this shoe was named sneaker of the year for a reason. PUMA and Rihanna are a match made in heaven and these creeper releases were actually one of the first hyped ‘exclusive’ womens only releases. At first I thought these were not for me because of the high sole.. I mean I’m tall enough myself already. But when I tried them on for the first time I was like; ‘ah well, no one will notice those extra few cm’s’! I’ve worn these ALOT.. and they’re really worn down at this point (I like my sneakers fresh) so I don’t wear them any longer. (see post here)
Nike air more Uptempo ‘white/gum’
If you follow my blog for a longer time already you probably know how big of a fan of gumsoles I am. And that bulky shoes are my favorite.. So when these released I HAD TO HAVE these. But shit happened and I was too late (I to sleep on releases sometimes).. But thank god Nike hooked me up with a pair! (see post here)
Nike air max 97 ‘Silver Bullet’
No explanation needed right? The return of the air max 97 happened not too long ago. I was one of the lucky few to go to Milan with Nike to celebrate the relaunch of the 97 and these were waiting for me at my hotelroom. I have to force myself not to wear them all day everyday. 2 times a week is the maximum, haha! (see post here)

– Everything Naked collaborated on! (from their Reebok collabs, to their Vans collab to their latest adidas release. All so on point!)
– CLOT x ASICS gel lyte III; the perfect lilac colorway!
– Air max 95 ponyhair; Because I mean colored Ponyhair YAAAS. And they go with pretty much every outfit #winning
– The Reebok Insta Pump fury; still one of my favorite styles. The latest addition to the family is the Titolo x Reebok IPF ‘1st OG’ colorway which marked my 1oth pair of IPF’s. More to come in 2017!
